Boston College Field Hockey: Eagles To Play Connecticut in First Round of NCAA Tournament

After finishing fourth during the regular season in the ACC, and falling to eventual conference champion Virginia in the conference tournament, the Boston College Eagles are going dancing.

The Eagles will play on Nov. 12 against the Big East champions, the No. 4 Connecticut Huskies, in Syracuse, N.Y. If the Eagles defeat the 20-1 Huskies, #orangeeagle points could potentially be on the line, as they would meet the winner of the Harvard and Syracuse game occurring preceding the matchup between the Huskies and the Eagles.

The Eagles fell to the Huskies 4-3 in overtime on Halloween weekend, with Casey Umstead scoring the game winning goal in overtime on a penalty stroke shot in the 84th minute. Emily McCoy, Eryn McCoy and Brittany Sheenan all scored for the Eagles during the game.

In the event the Eagles make it past the quarterfinal around against Harvard/Syracuse, the Eagles could potentially face Maryland, North Carolina, Stanford, Monmouth or Massachusetts in the semifinal.
