Happy Thursday, Eagles!
Here at BCI, we spend a lot of time discussing Boston College football, basketball, hockey and baseball in excruciating detail, but that doesn't mean that other varsity and club programs aren't also doing work. Take the men's crew team, for example.
After capturing the gold in the novice men's 8, silver in the second varsity 4 and bronze in the varsity 8, BC won the New England Rowing Championships (NERC) points trophy over the weekend. The win marked the program's first team points championship since 1997. The Novice/Freshman team won its first championship since 2011, the Varsity Eight had its best showing since 2004 and every BC crew finished in the top six.
Boston College knocked off rival Trinity College to claim this year's #BantamEagle (?) victory. Trinity had taken the men's trophy every year since 2004. Congrats to the men's crew team!

bceagles.com previews this weekend's Boston College lacrosse NCAA Tournament draw. Though the Eagles have reached the National Tournament in three of the last four seasons, this year will be the first time that BC will host the tournament. Inside Lacrosse thinks BC should be on upset alert.
Though it wasn't a great weekend for the BC baseball and softball teams, sophomore Chris Shaw (baseball) and senior Tory Speer (softball) have been named Eagles of the Week. Congrats to both.
Speaking of, the softball team is in action this afternoon as seventh-seeded BC takes on second-seeded Notre Dame in the first round of the ACC Softball Championship. Game starts at 5 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN3. This year marks the first time since the 2008 season the Eagles will appear in the ACC Tournament. Good luck, ladies!
