Happy Friday, Eagles. A not so happy Friday for three Boston College programs; each bounced from their respective conference tournaments. In addition to chickylax, both the men's and women's tennis teams were eliminated from the ACC tennis championship.

Boston College, the No. 12 seed in the 2014 Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Tennis Championship, fell to No. 5 seed Clemson, 4-0, on Thursday at the Cary Tennis Park.

Women's Tennis Falls To Notre Dame At ACC Championship (BCEagles.com)
Boston College women's tennis, which defeated Pittsburgh in the first round of the 2014 Atlantic Coast Conference Championship on Wednesday, fell to No. 7 seed Notre Dame, 4-0, in second-round play on Thursday at the Cary Tennis Park.

Baseball To Play Doubleheader Friday (BCEagles.com)
The Boston College baseball team's weekend series has been altered due to predicted rain for Saturday. The Eagles (14-27, 5-16 ACC) will host Maryland (25-15, 9-11 ACC) in a doubleheader on Friday, April 25 beginning at 1 p.m. and the second annual Wounded Warrior Project Game will be played on Sunday at 1 p.m.

It's been a bit of a strange trip for Boston College since they began ACC play in 2006. The Eagles struggled in the first three years of their transition but finished two games under .500 in league play in 2009 and 2010 making the ACC and NCAA Tournaments in both seasons. In the three season since, BC has won a total of only 20 ACC games finishing 4-25 in 2013. However, one of their four wins came at Maryland in the first game of the season's final series. In the previous eight years, the Terps have yet to win a series opener against the Eagles.

The U.S. completed the preliminary round of the 2014 IIHF U18 World Championship as the top team in Group B. Team USA accomplished this feat on the strength of three consecutive wins after an opening loss to Switzerland. The offensive leader for the U.S. so far in this tournament has been forward Sonny Milano. The Boston College recruit currently sits among the top 10 U18 scorers, having notched two goals and four assists in the four games played.

McCaffrey, Meehan and Johnson Named Women's Soccer Captains (BCEagles.com)
The Boston College soccer team will be led by junior Stephanie McCaffrey, junior Alex Johnson and sophomore McKenzie Meehan were named captains for the 2014 fall season at the team banquet. The three players were voted into the position by their teammates.
