Boston College Women’s Hockey Names 2018-2019 Captains

No surprises here

John Quackenbos, BC Athletics

Boston College Women’s Hockey head coach Katie Crowley announced on Thursday the tri-captains for the upcoming season.

This might have been the most obvious announcement in the history of captains announcements. Makenna Newkirk will be entering her senior year as a rare second year captain and as the senior leader of the Eagles’ potent offensive attack. She’s been a leader on and off the ice for BC since her freshman year, and it was a no-brainer for her to continue her role with the Captain’s “C” on the jersey.

American Heroes Kali Flanagan and Megan Keller return to BC for their fourth year of eligibility after taking last season off to play with the US Olympic Team at Pyeongchang, bringing Olympic gold back to the Heights. They will anchor an all-world blue line for the Eagles. Our American Heroes have been all over the country since returning from the Olympics, using their newfound fame to promote the growth of the sport to young girls.

Needless to say, all three players are exceptional young women and BC is lucky to have them leading the charge as they push for that first national championship.

Congratulations to Makenna, Kali, and Megan on being named Boston College captains!
