Boston College Women’s Hockey alumna Katie Burt will be keeping her talents in Boston to play professional hockey. The Lynn, Massachusetts native has signed with the NWHL’s Boston Pride. Burt was the #1 overall pick in the 2017 NWHL Draft.

The Pride, winner of the first-ever Isobel Cup, has been home to a ton of Eagles since its founding in 2015. Last year’s roster alone featured no fewer than six Boston College alumnae: Lexi Bender, Dana Trivigno, Kaliya Johnson, Emily Field, Maegan Mangene, and American Hero Haley Skarupa. So Burt will obviously feel right at home.
Katie Burt is one of the most successful goaltenders ever to play college hockey. Her ludicrous 121-13-10 record stands as one of the best all-time: Burt’s 121 wins is the most for any women’s hockey goaltender in history, and ranks behind only Marty Turco’s 127 wins at Michigan for 2nd place in either gender. Needless to say, the Pride have to be thrilled with picking up one of the top collegiate goaltenders of all time.
Congratulations to Katie on signing with the Pride and staying in Boston for the upcoming season!
