Mid-week hockey! BC/BU! Madness!
I don’t know about you, but whenever we get one of these mid-week games, I feel like it’s little extra special “Treat Yo Self” from the gods. What else are you going to do on a Tuesday night?? Nothing good, that’s what. So set yourself up for a evening with Coach Crowley’s crew and watch as we hopefully stomp the ever-loving daylights out of Boston University!

HOW TO WATCH
BU at BC, like all BC men’s and women’s hockey home games, will be streamed live on ESPN3. You can watch the game on TV as well if you have Xfinity. Just say “ESPN3” into your voice remote and select the game from the menu.
LAST TIME OUT
BU had a so-so weekend against Vermont (who is very bad), taking game one for a 3-0 win before tripping up in game two in a 3-3 tie, losing the extra point on a UVM extra-attacker goal.
BC had a very pleasant home-and-home weekend against UCONN, taking the weekend sweep in 3-0, 4-0 decisions and posting two shutouts in the same weekend for the first time in what feels like (and frankly what might actually be) ages.
THIS WEEK’S STORYLINE
If you throw out BC’s 4-2 loss to Providence in which four of the best players in the world (including three of the best defenders in the world) were away training with Team USA, Boston College has now gone ten straight games without giving up more than one goal. They’ve posted shutouts in four of those games. Last year’s BC team put up 4 shutouts over the course of the entire season.
The offense continues to fine-tune things here in the early going, but the defense has turned into one of the top units in all of women’s hockey. Raise your hand if you saw that co...PUT YOUR HAND DOWN, SONNY.
BIG QUESTIONS
Can Queen McArthur and her Knights of the Round Blue Line pitch a third consecutive shutout? Will the Eagles rain holy hellfire upon the inferior program from the less desirable end of Comm Ave, or will they merely impose their will and win without serving our puntable friends too much of a heaping helping of embarrassment? Will Coach Crowley continue to mix up the lines? Are the Eagles going to run the whole season rolling four lines as they have been lately or will the coaching staff shorten the bench in a few months? Does anyone go to BU by choice or is it just Ye Olde ſafetie ſchoolle for literally everyone who goes there? If you graduate from the College of General Studies do they let you apply to one of their real programs?
RANDOM, POSSIBLY INCORRECT FACT FROM BU’s WIKIPEDIA PAGE
This is really just a great piece of Wiki goodness:
The Academy award-winning movie The Social Network (2010) involves a fictionalized version of Mark Zuckerberg, a Harvard student, offending his date by insisting that she does not need to study because “You go to B.U.!”. Some Boston University students were insulted by this.
I certainly wasn’t!
ICE CREAM OF THE WEEK
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/13458999/ice_cream.jpg)
America’s Choice Tub o’ Vanilla
Technically speaking, it’s ice cream! It may be a tub of the cheapest, lowest quality, and least flavorful warehouse ice cream ever mass produced by humankind, but it is, for all intents and purposes, a frozen dairy dessert.
It’s the ice cream choice you’d make if there were literally no other options available to you. Sort of like how someone ends up at Boston University.
GAME TIME SONG OF THE WEEK
OutKast — Roses
THROWING IT BACK! Just an all-time classic hate track. Perfect for BU week.
PREDICTION
BU is a lot better this year than I personally expected them to be, given that I expected them to be a steaming pile of hot garbage after losing basically every offensive contributor they had from last season (a season in which they weren’t particularly good either). But the Terriers have turned out to be pretty average this season — they’re the first team with a KRACH rating above 100, they have a .500 record, and they’ve scored the same number of goals as they’ve allowed. See, wicked average! If BC is an elite team, they shouldn’t have any problem with a team of BU’s caliber, especially now that human heart attack Sarah Lefort has graduated.
After how well the Eagles played this weekend aaginst UCONN, it feels like BC’s going to inch themselves closer than ever to playing a complete game, though there will be some chances left on the table. BC will win 4-0, though I won’t be satisfied with drop-kicking these pups by anything less than a touchdown.
