WIH: Five Eagles Named To US National Team Roster For Four Nations Cup

Four current eagles and one alumna make the US squad

Olympics: Ice Hockey-Women Team Final - USA-CAN Andrew Nelles-USA TODAY Sports

Five Eagles, including four currently playing hockey on the Heights for Boston College, have been named to Team USA’s national team roster for the 2018 Four Nations Cup in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

The Boston College superstars who will don the USA jersey are:

D — Cayla Barnes ‘22*
D — Kali Flanagan ‘19
D — Megan Keller ‘19
F — Caitrin Lonergan ‘21
D — Emily Pfalzer ‘15

Barnes is as of now part of the Class of 2022, but if she plays in the 2022 Olympics (which seems likely), she’ll take a red shirt year and graduate in 2023.

Barnes, Flanagan, Keller, and Pfalzer were all a part of the Team USA roster that took home gold from the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics.

The Four Nations Cup takes place from November 6th through November 10th in Saskatoon and is a tournament featuring the national teams of the USA, Canada, Finland and Sweden. For the first time in basically ever, Boston College had the foresight to not schedule any games during this time, as they play no games between November 3rd and November 16th — meaning for once they won’t be without a sizable chunk of their roster for important league games. UPDATE: Team USA starts practicing a week before the tournament, so the four active BC players will miss the November 3rd game against Providence.

Congratulations to our five Eagles on the roster as they look to earn themselves another gold medal for the United States!
