Women’s Hockey East Championship Preview: Game Time, TV, How To Watch, and More

BC’s going for its third trophy of the season this afternoon

Kathryn Riley

What a weekend for BC. After coming away with the semifinal win in double overtime against Vermont, everything fell just right for the Eagles to be playing for home ice in the NCAA tournament. It’s simple: Win, and we’re at Conte Forum next week. Lose, and we’re either at St. Lawrence, or out of the tournament entirely.

Let’s just win.

#5 Boston College (26-5-5, 17-4-3 WHEA) vs.
#10 Northeastern University (22-11-3, 14-8-2 WHEA)

Date: Sunday, March 5th, 2017

Time: 1:30 PM ET

Venue: Walter Brown Arena, Boston, MA

TV: ASN nationally (NESN+ in the New England area, Comcast channel 894 in Boston)

Live Stats: Link here

Following Along on Twitter: We’ll have coverage at @BCInterruption. @joegrav, @arthurbailin, and @laurbear90 will be at the game. I will be tweeting my usual hysterics from @Salzano14 from Connecticut, if you’re into that sort of thing. And of course, don’t forget the official @BC_WHockey account.

Last Time Out: BC won in a thriller against Vermont in double overtime. Northeastern had some excitement of their own, scoring with 3:46 and 0:46.4 to go in the game to beat Boston University 2-1.

Big Questions: Did BC have enough time to recover after playing two overtimes less than 24 hours ago? Can they fix their penalty kill will after Vermont scored all three of its goals yesterday on the man advantage? Which team will benefit more from playing at BU’s dumpy rink? Will BC’s players that had time off for injury fresh or rusty?

Game Day Snack: Jalapeño Stuffed Pretzels

To the best of my knowledge, Walter Brown Arena still sells these. Don’t get mad at me if they don’t. But basically take BC’s terrible, awful, cardboard sesame seed pretzels, and turn them into the exact opposite. The result is the warm, cheesy food of the gods. Find one and eat one (but bring cash, apparently). You won’t regret it.

Game Day Song: Bruno Mars, 24k Magic

Pop pop, it's show time (show time)
Show time (show time)
Guess who's back again?

BC and Northeastern have quite a rivalry going the last few years. Which team has the 24 karat magic this afternoon?

Let’s go Eagles!
