Name: Julius Mattila

Number: 26

Position: Forward

Class Year: Senior

Background: Mattila has been one of BC’s most consistent, reliable forwards since he first stepped on the ice three seasons ago. He’s averaged 10 goals per season in each of those years, and has carried a lot of the weight for the Eagles as they’ve struggled to break through. BC hasn’t made the national tournament in any of his three seasons, and with how much he’s put into the program, you hope to see him rewarded with a postseason run for his final season.

2019-20 Outlook: The Eagles have a wealth of incoming freshman talent, which should have a good effect on Mattila’s offensive numbers in a couple ways. First, it’s going to take a lot of the pressure off Mattila to be one of the team’s top producers, which will open up a lot of his game. But second, and perhaps more importantly, his numbers should improve by getting to play with so many more offensively skilled players around him — a rising tide lifts all boats.

Fun Fact: Julius is Finnish! Everyone already knows this, but damn, it’s really just so damn cool that these guys are Finnish.
