Boston College v. Providence: Final Thoughts and Predictions

Well, we made it to the end of the season. And we have a big game at the end.

As we discussed earlier, BC has a lot of potential for movement this weekend, and it all begins with their game with Providence. A win would clinch at least the seventh spot in the Hockey East tournament with a chance at the sixth seed. A loss, however, could send the Eagles back to eighth.

The game is against a team that the Eagles have had some success against, the Providence Friars. However, this is a game at Schneider Arena. Let’s break it down.

What to Watch For

1. Converting on chances: BC in its first two games had an outstanding conversion rate, which is good considering they did not shoot particularly well. Ideally the Eagles would shoot better, but the Friars have been playing a strong defensive shutdown game. That said, if the Eagles are effective converting, the Eagles should enjoy some success.
2. Brick Woll: Joseph Woll needs to stand tall, as the Providence attack will likely continue a run of putting pressure on net. Providence is one of the best scoring teams in the country, so Woll is going to need to stand tall.
3. Corsi: Providence is one of the best Corsi for % teams in the country.
