Another day, another BC men’s hockey sophomore. Let’s keep things moving!
Name: David Cotton
Number: 17
Position: Forward
Class Year: Sophomore
Drafted: #169 by the Carolina Hurricanes in 2015
Background: David Cotton had an excellent freshman season and was the team’s top scoring rookie. Cotton put up a 10-14—24 line as one of only 5 Eagles to put up double digits in the goals column. Four of his goals came on the power play.
2017-18 Outlook: Cotton was important to the team’s success right from when he stepped on the ice, and like the rest of the sophomores, he’ll likely be leaned on a little more than a typical underclassman would with the absence of any seniors. His time on the power play last season will come and handy and we’ll likely see him back there this year. He will be one of the team’s top producers and has a pretty good shot of playing the year on one of the top two lines.
Fun Fact: David’s brother Jason played at Northeastern before transferring after the 2015-2016 season. He’ll be playing his redshirt sophomore season this year at Sacred Heart.
