The days roll on and the countdown continues. Today we look at another rising sophomore in Zach Walker.

Name: Zach Walker

Number: 14

Position: Right wing

Class Year: Sophomore

Background: Not unlike many of his teammates, Zach Walker’s season started fairly promisingly in 2016-17 but tailed off. Walker had tallied 2 goals and 5 assists by the first week in December, but was held scoreless for the rest of the season. He ended the year with 13 shots on goal in a total of 32 games played.

Walker’s got the physical tools (solid size (6’1’’) and sneaky speed) and pedigree (US National Team Development program alum) to get himself off the playing time bubble and cement a spot this season, but he’l certainly want to make an early impression.

2017-18 Outlook: With the departure of many of BC’s top forwards to graduation, there will be playing time up for grabs this season. Walker seems likely to nail down bottom six minutes and play in nearly every game.

Fun Fact: Walker will be one of three players from Boise, Idaho playing NCAA d1 hockey this year, along with Bo Hanson of St. Lawrence and Bailey Conger of Providence.
