Juniors Casey Fitzgerald, Michael Kim and Christopher Brown will be co-captains for the Boston College men’s ice hockey team during the 2017-18 season, Boston College Athletics announced in a statement on Monday. The public announcement comes following an announcement at the 68th Pike’s Peak banquet Sunday afternoon.

Casey Fitzgerald will be the second straight Fitzgerald to be named a captain, as his older brother Ryan was an associate captain during the 2016-17 season.

The captains were voted on by members of the team following the end of the season.

It is worth noting that all three captains are juniors. Due to early departures in previous years, the Eagles will not be fielding a senior class during the 2017-18 season. Because of this, Fitzgerald, Kim and Brown will be amongst the most senior members of the team this year.

The trio replace graduating seniors Chris Calnan, and alternate captains Ryan Fitzgerald and Austin Cangelosi.
