Boston College Men’s Basketball: Dana Barros, John Bagley To Have Jerseys Retired

The Boston College Athletics Department announced Thursday afternoon that it will be retiring the jerseys of Boston College men’s basketball legends Dana Barros and John Bagley.

The jerseys will be retired on Feb. 25 during halftime of the BC’s game with Va. Tech at Conte Forum. A ceremony at halftime will be conducted in conjunction with the retirement.

Both Barros and Bagley’s numbers will remain in rotation following the ceremony.

“In the rich history of Boston College basketball, Dana Barros and John Bagley are two of the finest players this program has ever had,” BC coach Jim Christian said in a press release from the department. “Both Dana and John achieved so much while they were here. What they did for this program back then, and what they continue to mean to this program now will be remembered forever. It will be a special moment when their jerseys are raised in Conte Forum.”

Barros was the first BC player to eclipse the 2,000 point mark during his time at Boston College, and was selected as the No. 16 pick in the 1989 NBA Draft the the Seattle Supersonics.

John Bagley is No. 14 on the BC all-time scoring list. Bagley was selected No. 12 by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 1982 NBA Draft.
