Boston College Basketball: Eagles Acquire BYU Transfer Jordan Chatman

Kelvin Kuo-USA TODAY Sports

Following the announced departure of Sammy Barnes-Thompkins early last week, it appears that BC basketball has picked up an apparent replacement. Jeff Goodman of ESPN reported Tuesday that BYU grad transfer Jordan Chatman is transferring to Boston College for the 2016-17 season.

While the BYU website has Chatman listed as a redshirt freshman, SB Nation affiliate Vanquish the Foe reports that Chatman graduated from BYU in two years. Chatman will be eligible to dress for the Eagles immediately.

The news is the latest in a summer filled with movement. Barnes-Thompkins, Matt Milon and Idy Diallo all transferred out of the program following an 0-18 performance in ACC play last year. However, the Eagles have counteracted the departures with acquisitions of their own. BC also picked up PF Connar Tava from Western Michigan, amongst other key freshmen acquisitions.
