RECAP: Turnovers Hamper Boston College Effort, North Carolina Trounces Eagles 89-62

What To Watch For

  1. A Return To the Friendly Confines: It is worth noting that BC has only won once away from Conte Forum (Dec. 22 against Fordham at the Barclays Center). The Eagles certainly have enjoyed a noticeable boost playing in front of the home crowd, as some of their most competitive ACC games have been in Chestnut Hill. If nothing else, a return to the friendly confines might prove beneficial after a difficult road trip.
  2. Mistakes: Part of what held back the Eagles in Chapel Hill was turnovers. A thirteen turnover first half was costly, as a more mistake-free first half could have put the Eagles in position for an upset bid. Another component to limiting mistakes is being more aware of the time on the shot clock. Twice on Saturday afternoon the Eagles, while cycling through a play, did not put themselves in a place where a shot was pragmatic. The problem has been recurring, and the Eagles need to nip it in the butt.
  3. Having A Short Memory: There's no way to sugarcoat it: BC's game against Louisville was brutal. There was few, if any, good things to take away from the game. The key, as Tom Devoto of The Heights, noted, is to keep moving forward. There is no use in recounting what happened Saturday afternoon. The only way the team can move is forward in order to keep success in sight.
