As the basketball season draws even closer, fans of the Boston College Eagles men’s basketball team now have a more general idea of where the Eagles might rank in the country. Matt Norlander of CBSSports.com published his Nos. 1-351 college basketball ranking, ranking every team in Division 1 college basketball. Norlander ranked the Eagles No. 196, amongst the likes of UNC Asheville, Kennesaw State and Duquesne. Here’s what Norlander had to say about the Eagles:

As we have noted in the past, BC’s new additions to this year’s team give reason for optimism for the program. Yet the woes of the basketball program last year cannot be ignored. Ultimately, the only way the team will be able to put doubters to rest will be by performing well.

The Eagles start their season on Nov. 11 at 7PM against Nicholls State. They open up conference play against Syracuse on New Year’s Day at 12:30 PM against Syracuse.
