Jim Christian felt compelled to apologize for Boston College's effort after the Eagles were completely obliterated on home court, 82-54, by the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Nothing went right for BC, who got dominated in every facet of the game. The loss dropped the Eagles to 0-2 in ACC play and 7-8 overall.

Dennis Clifford and Eli Carter co-led BC in scoring with 13 points each. Clifford and Ervins Meznieks both had 5 rebounds each to lead BC in that category.

The road continues to be difficult for BC basketball going forward; their next game is a visit on Wednesday night to the Carrier Dome to take on Syracuse. Can the Eagles find more upset magic against the Orange, or will they fall further in to the hole?
