Boston College proved to be a useful slumpbuster for the Syracuse Orange, slumping to a brutal 62-40 loss at the Carrier Dome. BC's offense proved to be completely incapable of doing just about anything other than hitting the occasional three pointer, with absolutely nothing going on on the inside for the entirety of the game.
Syracuse struggled early but pulled away comfortably down the stretch, earning their first ACC win of the year. Syracuse is now 11-7 overall and 1-4 in conference play. BC falls to 0-3 in the league and 7-9 overall. As tends to be the case in ACC basketball, the road ahead gets only tougher. BC's next game comes Saturday afternoon at #20-ranked, 14-1 Pittsburgh. If the Eagles are going to snap their losing streak and pick up an ACC win, they're going to need a wholesale turnaround from what happened last night in western New York.
