The Boston College Eagles will make the trek across I-90 to take on the Syracuse Orange in the first #orangeeagle matchup for the men's basketball teams.
Did BC Win Last Time Out?
What To Watch For:
- Which Eli Carter is Showing Up? There is no sugarcoating it: Eli Carter did not have a good game against Notre Dame. The reality is that Carter is the straw that stirs the drink for the Birds. If Carter has a good game against the Orange, the Eagles will be competitive. If the Carter struggles, this could get ugly.
- Watch Out From Three Point Land: Michael Gbinije, Trevor Cooney and Malachi Richardson are all bonafide three point scorers. BC is not good defending behind the arc. You do the math.
- Someone's Gotta Win This One, Guys: Both of these teams are searching for their first ACC win. Syracuse has played some good teams that have stonewalled its progress, but so has BC. Something has to give
Random, Possibly Incorrect Fact from Syracuse's Wikipedia Page
Joe Biden is J.D. '68.
Players To Watch
Michael Gbinije: (leads team with 17.5 ppg, .377 3-point shooter)
Tyler Robinson: (leads team with 8.0 rpg)
DaJuan Coleman: (.833 free throw percentage)
Non-Alcoholic Beverage of the Game
Grapefruit Juice
Oh, you were expecting orange juice because BC was playing the Orange? Good one. No, that's really clever, you're a real comedian. Hey everyone! We got a comedian over here.
Jerk.

Can BC Win This Game?
This actually should be a good matchup.

I wrote this on Monday night because I had surgery Tuesday morning to remove my wisdom teeth. I am rather incapacitated, so someone else will be covering the game tonight.
I'm intrigued as to why there is no bowl game in the championship rotation in New York. Yeah, the Super Bowl was a disaster, but Giants and Jets games go off at the Meadowlands without a hitch. Shouldn't the pinnacle of the college football season be in the media capital of the world?
Besides, it's not like any team that plays there will need the stadium in January anyway.
Final Thoughts And Predictions
Well that game was bad. I think this one will be slightly better.

Syracuse is a little undersized, but they can shoot the hell out of it if they get rolling. BC has a legitimate shot to win if they can get their bigs to do work. But we can't objectively state it's a game BC will win until they prove they can win. |

John "Coach" Fidler | 66-60 'Cuse | One of those games that based on the way the Orange are playing, BC could steal. But with a young team, in the Dome, first real road game, just don't think they get over the hump . BC needs to win the rebounding battle and not give up any easy baskets off turnovers against the zone. Those are traditional SU staples that aren't paying dividends for them this season to date. | 11 |

This would've been a good spot for BC if 'Cuse had upset UNC on Saturday but 'Cuse needs this one really bad after losing four in a row |
