Boston College To Battle Michigan State In Wooden Legacy 2015

Major matchup for a young Eagles squad early in the season.

Boston College basketball has found out their opponent for the 2015 DIRECTV Wooden Legacy Tournament. The young squad will be facing off against Tom Izzo and the Michigan State Spartans in the first round of the tournament.

Michigan State who are ranked #9 in the preseason polls, finished the previous season 27-12, including a trip to the Final Four where they lost to Duke 81-61.  The Spartans will be returning, guard Denzel Valentine who averaged 14.5 ppg last year along with Bryn Forbes. Two of their top three scorers from this squad graduated.  Also will be joining the Spartans are two ESPN100 4* recruits Deyonta Davis, Matt McQuaid and another 4* Kyle Ahrens.

Depending on what happens in that game the Eagles would get the winner/loser of the Boise State/UC Irvine. If they pull Boise State that could be an interesting matchup as they would get to face off with former guard Lonnie Jackson. If they continue to win, they could also face transfer Ryan Anderson and Arizona, but they would need to win a few games to get that to happen.

The Wooden Legacy 2015 will be held November 26th and 27th in two locations in California and the BC game will be televised on ESPN.
