On Wednesday, Boston College basketball faces Syracuse for the second time this season at Conte Forum (7:00 p.m., ESPN2). To promote the game, the school's official Superfan Twitter account, @BCEaglesUnited teases that the Eagles will don throwback uniforms for their matchup with the Orange.
Wednesday when @bchoopnews hosts Syracuse: throwback unis, 2,000 free t-shirts, a halftime contest for a GoPro and ... a $10K halfcourt shot

No no no no no. This is no good.
Let me take you back, back to a magical time. The year...2014. Syracuse's men's basketball team was rolling. 25-0 on the season. Ranked #1 in the nation. Many a Syracuse Orange t-shirt was printed to commemorate the undefeated start to the season.
Enter hapless Boston College, rocking a .240 winning percentage—7-19 overall, 3-10 ACC. Losers of five straight. Few, if any, gave BC any chance of handing the Orange its first loss of the season. But the Orange came out against BC rocking Nike throwback uniforms, including the cursive Syracuse script across an orange jersey and blue shorts. And, well, the rest is, as they say, history.
So my question is...have we learned nothing here, people?
Now, I'm sure BC will look good rocking the throwbacks on Wednesday. I'm partial to the shorts with the old school eagle logo on the side myself. Syracuse also has far less to play for than they did a year ago. Not a whole lot has worked well for Boston College this season, so let's mix it up. I get all that. Still, this seems like a sure fire way of BC-throwback-uni-jinxin' its way out of 6 Orange Eagle points.
Then again, if BC wins...throwback unis the rest of the season!
