Duke...North Carolina...Louisville...N.C. State. The ACC is home to some of the most accomplished and storied programs in college basketball; teams that have taken home a total of 15 National Championships. Yet the team that owns the longest winning streak over Boston College basketball is...the University of Miami? Miami, a program that BC used to straight up dominate in the Big East, is now the one doing the dominating in the series. Going back to the 2009-10 season, the Hurricanes have now won 10 straight over the Eagles.
BC won nine of 12 meetings from 1989-1997, and 13 straight from 2001-2008. But it's Miami that has dominated the series of late, with BC's last two coaches—Steve Donahue (0-8) and Jim Christian (0-2)—winless against the Hurricanes. One has to go all the way back to the 2009-10 season to find the last time Boston College notched a victory over the Hurricanes: a 79-75 victory at the UM Convocation Center back on January 19, 2010.
Included in BC's 10-game losing streak to Miami are a pair of 1-point losses, a double overtime thriller, a couple blowouts and even a chance ACC Tournament matchup.

As one would expect with a program that's struggled mightily over the years, the losing streaks to BC's various conference mates have started to lengthen considerably: nine straight losses to Duke, eight straight to Pitt, six straight to North Carolina and N.C. State, four straight to Notre Dame (a streak that dates back to both program's time in the Big East). Yet the losing streak to Miami, of all teams, stands alone at 10.
Since Miami is no longer a permanent scheduling partner for BC, it'll be a few years more before the Hurricanes can match BC's 13-game series winning streak set from 2001-08. Have to think, after a bunch of close calls, BC will get the better of Miami one of these seasons soon, right? Still, BC's current losing streak to Miami remains one of the mysteries of our time.
