Boston College Basketball vs. New Hampshire Wildcats: Final Thoughts and Predictions

Eagles look to extend three game winning streak

Anthony Gruppuso-USA TODAY Sports

The Boston College Eagles clawed their way back to .500 basketball following three straight wins, culminating in a win at the Barclays Center against the Fordham Rams. Now the Eagles will have one final tune-up game against the University of New Hampshire Wildcats.

Did BC Win Last Time Out?

What To Watch For:

  1. On The Rebound: UNH has out-rebounded it's opponents by 5.4 RPG. The Wildcats are absolutely a team that can dominate boards. BC does have the size advantage, so let's see if the Eagles use it to their benefit.
  2. #blockparty (or lack-thereof): UNH does not block shots. They average 1.1 blocks per game, probably due to the team's size.
  3. Don't Foul Jaleen Smith: He's hit 95% of his free throws. His .430 shooting percentage is no bargain either, but it is certainly the lesser of the two evils.

Random, Possibly Incorrect Fact from New Hampshire's Wikipedia Page

The Department of Education rated UNH as having the sixth-highest tuition in 2012.

Players To Watch

Jaleen Smith: (.430 shooting percentage, .950 free throw percentage)

Tanner Leissner: (leads team with 14.7 ppg)

Iba Camara: (leads team with 10.3 rpg)

Non-Alcoholic Beverage of the Game

Sparkling Apple Cider

The New Year is fast approaching, and as we draw closer to a new year where one of us turns 21 (not soon enough: I'm running out of beverages), we should celebrate the year that is about to be gone.

BUT WAIT

You can't have champagne, because even though you are oh so close, you cannot drink it. Therefore, you have to settle for champagne's cideric (totally a word) third cousin, twice removed.

But hey, sparkling apple cider isn't that bad. I had some after the New York Mets won the World Series.

Oh wait, that was just the NLCS.

Rating The New Hampshire Mascots

No self respecting team would have two mascots.

I SAID SELF RESPECTING.

3/10

Who Would Win In a Fight, A Wildcat or Eagle?

An Eagle. Nope, I don't care that's illogical. An Eagle.

Can BC Win This Game?

Yaaaaaaaaah.

Final Thoughts And Predictions

I thought for a split second that this would be a trap game with Duke Saturday, but then another thought came into my head. It went something like: "naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah."

BC 70-55

How was our field hockey writer the only one to predict Fordham correctly? Ugh.
