If indulging in preseason basketball rankings is your cup of tea, as a BC basketball fan, you might want to skip this article.

The annual kenpom.com rankings were released over the weekend, and to the surprise of no one, the Eagles were ranked at the bottom of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Overall, BC is ranked 157th in the country, ranked behind future out-of-conference foes such as New Hampshire (155), Michigan State (18), and potential foes Boise State (69) and University of California, Irvine (116).

The conference as a whole boasts three entries in the top 10, with the Duke Blue Devils claiming the top spot in the country.

The conference outlook does not get much easier from the top 10, as only two teams, including BC, are placed outside of the top 100, with Virginia Tech entering at 131. The Eagles are expected to go 4-14 in the conference.

As for other out of conference games, the slate does not get easier. The Eagles will travel to Providence, R.I. to take on the #62 Providence College Friars. The Eagles will also host #119 Penn State before conference play starts.

In short, buckle up everyone. It is going to be a long season.
