Boston College fans living in southern California will get a double dip this fall. Not only is the football team playing at LA Memorial Coliseum vs. USC in September, but the men's basketball team will face USC at the Galen Center on December 8. The game will be a bit of a homecoming for BC's Ryan Anderson, K.C. Caudill, Lonnie Jackson and Joe Rahon, who all hail from southern California.
This year's meeting between BC and USC marks the third ever game between the two programs, but just the first time during the regular season. USC has defeated Boston College twice during the NCAA Tournament; both times as the lower seed -- in 2001 (74-71 over #3 BC) and 2009 (72-55 over #7 BC).
New head coach Andy Enfield (Dunk City!) takes over for Bob Cantu, who took over during the middle of the 2012-13 season on an interim basis for Kevin O'Neill, who was fired. The Trojans finished the season just 14-18, 9-9 in the Pac-12 and were bounced by Utah in the first round of the Pac-12 Tournament.
USC will be coming off a trip to the Bahamas for this year's Battle 4 Atlantis, which features Kansas, Villanova, Xavier and Wake Forest from the ACC. The Eagles will be making a stop in West Lafayette, Indiana on December 4 to face Purdue in the ACC / Big Ten Challenge before heading out to Los Angeles for the game with the Trojans.
