ACC Basketball Preseason Media Poll: Where Will Boston College Land?

Will Boston College meet or beat preseason expectations for the sixth straight season?

On Wednesday, the ACC will release the 2013-14 ACC men's basketball preseason poll. Lots of unknowns going into the first season of the new-look league. One thing that is known for sure, however, is that Boston College returns nearly all of its production from last season; one that ended on a high note after the Eagles won 6 of its final 10 games and put a scare into eventual ACC champ Miami in the ACC Tournament Quarterfinals.

Where will the media vote Boston College today? Let's take a look at where the Eagles have placed over the past few years.

Preseason Media Poll Actual Place Delta
2012-13 12 8 4
2011-12 12 12 0
2010-11 10 5 5
2009-10 9 8 1
2008-09 11 6 5
2007-08 8 11 -3
2006-07 3 4 -1
2005-06 2 3 -1

After failing to meet the media's preseason expectations in the Eagles' first three years in the league, BC has matched or beat expectations in the five seasons since (matching only the 2011-12 last place prediction despite finishing in a four-way tie at the bottom of the league table at 4-12). Last season, the Eagles, once again picked to finish last, actually finished the season as the 8th best team in the conference.

It will be interesting to see where the media has Boston College pegged this season, especially when factoring in newcomers Syracuse, Pittsburgh and Notre Dame.

Where do you think the Eagles' will place in this year's preseason media poll? Will Boston College meet or beat preseason expectations for the sixth straight season? Feel any programs will be over- or underrated by the media? Leave your thoughts on the season below. Shootyhoops!
