Congratulations to Boston College basketball's Joe Rahon, named ACC Rookie of the Week for this past week. The San Diego native averaged 21.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in the games against Dartmouth and N.C. State.
Rahon was near perfect in the Eagles' 7-58 win against Dartmouth, finishing with 24 points by going 7-for-8 from the floor, 6-for-6 from three and 4-for-4 from the line. He added another 18 points in BC's 78-73 loss to N.C. State on Saturday.
The freshman has really turned it on of late. He's averaging 11.8 points, 4.1 assists and 3.1 rebounds per game, having started in every one of the Eagles' 14 games this season. Rahon leads all BC players averaging 35.8 minutes a game.
The Eagles (8-6, 0-1 ACC) next hit the road for a two game road trip at Virginia Tech (Wednesday night) and at Wake Forest (Saturday). Boston College struggled mightily on the road in conference play last season (going 0-9) and return to the site of their last ACC road victory, a 76-61 victory over Virginia Tech at Cassell on March 1, 2011.
