Boston College freshman guard Olivier Hanlan has been named the ACC Co-Rookie of the Week. He shares this week's award with Florida State guard Aaron Thomas. The Alymer, Quebec native recorded his first collegiate double-double with 17 points and 12 boards in Saturday's 71-68 win over Providence.
Hanlan currenly ranks second among ACC freshmen and 19th overall with 12.8 points per game. The freshman guard ranks second on the team in scoring, second on the team in assists (2.2 a game) and is also the team's third leading rebounder at 4.1 a game. Tells you all you need to know about the Eagles' struggles on the glass when your 6-foot-4 point guard is the team's third best rebounder.
Hanlan has reached double figures in all but three of the Eagles' games so far this season. Both he and fellow freshman guard Joe Rahon have started all 11 games for the Eagles this year and lead the team in minutes, logging 33.5 and 35.5 minutes a game, respectively.
Congratulations, Olivier.
