1. Virginia Cavaliers (17-0, 5-0)

Last week: Defeated Clemson (65-42), Defeated Boston College (66-51)
This week: Georgia Tech (1/22), @ Virginia Tech (1/25)

Last week's ranking: 1 (--)

No surprise at #1 this week as the Cavaliers improve to 17-0 on the year with a pair of victories over Clemson and Boston College. The defending ACC champs will face both Techs this week—Georgia Tech at home and in-state rival Virginia Tech in Blacksburg.

2. Duke Blue Devils (15-3, 3-2 ACC)

Last week: Lost to Miami (90-74), Defeated Louisville (63-52)
This week: Pittsburgh (1/19), @ St. John's (1/25)

Last week's ranking: 2 (--)

Few saw the Hurricanes going into Cameron Indoor and beating up the Blue Devils, sending Duke to its second straight loss of the season. Fewer still saw Duke rebounding by going to Louisville and thumping a top 10 team on the road. Duke is back at home this week as they host Pitt on Monday, then hits the road for their annual non-conference game vs. St. John's at the Garden.

3. Notre Dame Fighting Irish (17-2, 5-1)

Last week: Defeated Georgia Tech (62-59), Defeated Miami (75-70)
This week: @ Virginia Tech (1/22), @ N.C. State (1/25)

Last week's ranking: 5 (up 2)

The Irish keep rolling, surviving a pair of close calls against Georgia Tech and Miami. Notre Dame has now won 13 of its last 14 games, with the only setback being a 62-56 loss to Virginia. A pair of road games are up next for the Irish as Mike Brey's boys travel to Blacksburg on Thursday and Raleigh on Sunday.

4. North Carolina Tar Heels (14-4, 4-1)

Last week: Defeated N.C. State (81-79), Defeated Virginia Tech (68-53)
This week: @ Wake Forest (1/21), Florida State (1/24)

Last week's ranking: 4 (--)

The Heels notched a big victory over in-state rival N.C. State during the week, then did just enough to coast past Virginia Tech by double digits. North Carolina is at Wake Forest on Wednesday night, then returns home to host the struggling Seminoles on Saturday.

5. Louisville Cardinals (15-3, 3-2)

Last week: Defeated Virginia Tech (78-63), Lost to Duke (63-52)
This week: @ Pittsburgh (1/25)

Last week's ranking: 3 (down 2)

The Cardinals coasted past Virginia Tech 78-63 during the week, but got thumped by Duke at home in a top 10 showdown on Saturday. Louisville now has an 8-day layoff before returning to action with a road game at Pittsburgh on Sunday.

6. Miami Hurricanes (12-5, 2-2)

Last week: Defeated Duke (90-74), Lost to Notre Dame (75-70)
This week: N.C. State (1/22), @ Syracuse (1/24)

Last week's ranking: 8 (up 2)

Miami went into Cameron Indoor and thumped Duke, winning 90-74. The Hurricanes seemed poised to notch its second big victory over the week, before an Irish rally erased a 12-point second-half deficit. Notre Dame would go on to win, 75-70. The 'Canes host N.C. State on Thursday, then travel to upstate N.Y. for a road game at Syracuse on Saturday.

7. North Carolina State Wolfpack (13-6, 4-2)

Last week: Lost to North Carolina (81-79), Defeated Florida State (72-63)
This week: @ Miami (1/22), Notre Dame (1/25)

Last week's ranking: 6 (down 1)

A mixed week for the Wolfpack, which rallied from 11 down late in the second half against Carolina but couldn't come all the way back against the Heels. N.C. State did rebound with a much needed 72-63 victory over Florida State over the weekend. Tough week again for the Pack, which travels to Miami for a Thursday night tilt vs. the Hurricanes before returning home to face the red-hot Irish on Sunday.

8. Syracuse Orange (13-5, 4-1)

Last week: Defeated Wake Forest (86-83), Lost to Clemson (66-53)
This week: Boston College (1/20), Miami (1/24)

Last week's ranking: 7 (down 1)

The Orange survived Wake Forest, winning 86-83 in overtime during the week, but turned in a dreadful performance at Clemson over the weekend. The loss to the Tigers was SU's first in conference play this year. #OrangeEagle points are on the line on Tuesday as Syracuse hosts Boston College. Another former Big East foe, Miami, comes to the Dome on Saturday.

9. Pittsburgh Panthers (13-5, 3-2)

Last week: Defeated Florida State (73-64), Defeated Georgia Tech (70-65)
This week: @ Duke (1/19), Louisville (1/25)

Last week's ranking: 10 (up 1)

Pitt turned in a perfect 2-0 week with victories over Florida State and Georgia Tech to get back over .500 in league play. A big road game at Duke is on tap tonight. Pitt has the rest of the week off before hosting Louisville on Sunday.

10. Clemson Tigers (10-7, 2-3)

Last week: Lost to Virginia (65-42), Defeated Syracuse (66-53)
This week: Florida State (1/19), Wake Forest (1/24)

Last week's ranking: 11t (up 1)

The Tigers bounced back from a 65-42 loss to Virginia with a decisive 66-53 victory over the Orange over the weekend. Clemson will stay at home this week as they welcome Florida State and Wake Forest to Littlejohn.

11. Wake Forest Demon Deacons (9-9, 1-4)

Last week: Lost to Syracuse (86-83)
This week: North Carolina (1/21), @ Clemson (1/24)

Last week's ranking: 9 (down 2)

Just one game for Wake Forest this week, which dropped an OT decision to Syracuse. Wake Forest welcomes North Carolina to Lawrence Joel on Wednesday before traveling to Clemson to take on the Tigers on Saturday.

12. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (9-8, 0-5)

Last week: Lost to Notre Dame (62-59), Lost to Pittsburgh (70-65)
This week: @ Virginia (1/22), Boston College (1/25)

Last week's ranking: 11t (down 1)

The Jackets are still searching for that elusive first ACC conference victory after dropping a pair of games to Notre Dame and Pittsburgh. That could very well come on Sunday when the winless Eagles pay a visit to Georgia Tech. All that's standing in the way of an epic #goacc clash between 0-5 BC vs. 0-6 Georgia Tech are the Orange and Cavaliers, respectively.

13. Florida St. Seminoles (9-9, 1-4)

Last week: Lost to Pittsburgh (73-64), Lost to N.C. State (72-63)
This week: @ Clemson (1/19), @ North Carolina (1/24)

Last week's ranking: 13 (--)

Florida State rallied from 19 down, but couldn't come all the way back in a 72-63 loss to N.C. State. The Seminoles fall to 1-4 in conference play. A pair of road games are up next for FSU: at Clemson tonight and at UNC on Saturday.

14. Boston College Eagles (8-8, 0-4)

Last week: Defeated Harvard (64-57), Lost to Virginia (66-51)
This week: @ Syracuse (1/20), @ Georgia Tech (1/25)

Last week's ranking: 14 (--)

The Eagles finally got the Harvard monkey off their back and acquitted themselves fairly well against unbeaten and 2nd-ranked Virginia. BC simply ran out of gas down the stretch in a 66-51 setback to the Cavaliers. The Eagles have a pair of road games this week at Syracuse and Georgia Tech.

15. Virginia Tech Hokies (8-9, 0-4)

Last week: Lost to Louisville (78-63), Lost to North Carolina (68-53)
This week: Notre Dame (1/22), Virginia (1/25)

Last week's ranking: 15 (--)

Another rough week for the Hokies, who dropped a pair of decisions to Louisville and North Carolina. Buzz Williams' boys have now lost five straight after starting the season with an 8-4 mark. Unfortunately there's no let up in the Hokies' schedule, which hosts two of the conference's best teams this week: Notre Dame and Virginia.
