4t. North Carolina Tar Heels, 122
4t. Notre Dame Fighting Irish, 122
6. Miami Hurricanes, 121
7. Syracuse Orange, 93
8. North Carolina State Wolfpack, 81

15. Virginia Tech Hokies, 20

1. Duke Blue Devils (8-0, 0-0 ACC)

Last week: Idle
This week: Elon (12/15), vs. Connecticut (12/18)

Last week's ranking: 1 (--)

The Blue Devils were off this week but manage to hold onto the top spot in this week's polls. Two games this week for Duke -- a home game against Elon tonight followed by a game against defending National Champion UConn in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

2. Louisville Cardinals (9-0, 0-0)

Last week: Defeated Indiana (94-74), Defeated UNC-Wilmington (68-57)
This week: @ Western Kentucky (12/20)

Last week's ranking: 3 (up 1)

The Cards jump idle Virginia for #2 in the poll this week on the strength of a pair of wins over Indiana and UNC-Wilmington. Terry Rozier scored a career-high 26 points and grabbed six rebounds in the Cards win over Indiana in the Jimmy V Classic at MSG. Just one game this week -- a short trip down route 60 to take on the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers.

3. Virginia Cavaliers (9-0, 0-0)

Last week: Idle
This week: Cleveland State (12/18), Harvard (12/21)

Last week's ranking: 2 (down 1)

The Cavaliers are back in action on Thursday as they host Cleveland State. On Sunday, the Hoos host 7-1 Harvard at JPJ Arena.

4t. North Carolina Tar Heels (6-3, 0-0)

Last week: Lost to Kentucky (84-70)
This week: UNC-Greensboro (12/16), @ Ohio State (12/20)

Last week's ranking: 4 (--)

Sources indicate that Kentucky is really good, so not much shame in falling to the nation's top ranked team by #14 on the road. Pollsters agreed with the Heels maintaining the #4 spot in this week's polls. The Heels offense was clicking, but it wasn't enough to top UK. Another stern test awaits North Carolina later this week as the Heels travel to Chicago to take on Ohio State on Saturday.

4t. Notre Dame Fighting Irish (10-1, 1-0)

Last week: Defeated Mount St. Mary's (93-67), Defeated Florida State (83-63)
This week: Purdue (12/20)

Last week's ranking: 6 (up 2)

The Irish continue to roll, jumping up to a tie for fourth place in this week's polls after knocking out Mount St. Mary's and Florida State in the ACC opener. On Saturday, Notre Dame takes on in-state Purdue at the Crossroads Classic in Indianapolis.

6. Miami Hurricanes (9-1, 0-0)

Last week: Defeated Savannah State (70-39)
This week: Eastern Kentucky (12/19)

Last week's ranking: 5 (down 1)

Just one game for the Canes this week as they made quick work of Savannah State, defeating the Tigers 70-39. Miami welcomes the Ohio Valley Conference's Eastern Kentucky Colonels to Bank United Center on Friday night.

7. Syracuse Orange (6-3, 0-0)

Last week: Defeated Louisiana Tech (71-69)
This week: @ Villanova (12/20)

Last week's ranking: 8 (up 1)

It wasn't pretty, but Syracuse sneaked past Louisiana Tech, 71-69, on a Rakeem Christmas hook shot with just 2.2 seconds left to play. The win snapped a two-game skid for the Orange. Syracuse is at former Big East foe #7 Villanova on Saturday.

8. North Carolina State Wolfpack (8-2, 1-0)

Last week: Defeated Charleston Southern (86-50), Lost to Wofford (55-54)
This week: Tennessee (12/17), West Virginia (12/20)

Last week's ranking: 7 (down 1)

It looked like Trevor Lacey saved N.C. State's bacon with a running 3-pointer at the buzzer. But the bucket was waived off after officials reviewed the play to determine the shot came too late, capping a wild 55-54 Wofford victory over the Pack. N.C. State will have to rebound quickly as they have two big games on Wednesday (vs. Tennessee) and Saturday (vs. a ranked West Virginia squad at Madison Square Garden).

9. Pittsburgh Panthers (6-3, 0-0)

Last week: Defeated St. Bonaventure (58-54)
This week: Manhattan (12/17), Oakland (12/20)

Last week's ranking: 9 (--)

Pitt ground out a 58-54 victory over St. Bonaventure in the Panthers' only game of the week. The Bonnies had a chance to tie the game with six seconds left after Jaylen Adams was fouled on a 3-point attempt down 55-52, but Adams missed the second free throw. Two games this week for Pitt, which hosts Manhattan on Wednesday and Oakland on Saturday.

10. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (6-2, 0-0)

Last week: Idle
This week: Appalachian State (12/15), Vanderbilt (12/20)

Last week's ranking: 10 (--)

The idle Jackets held onto the #10 spot in this week's poll. Games against Appalachian State and Vanderbilt are on the docket for Brian Gregory's boys this week.

11. Clemson Tigers (6-3, 0-0)

Last week: Defeated Auburn (72-61)
This week: @ South Carolina (12/19)

Last week's ranking: 11t (up 1)

Clemson improved to 3-0 against SEC opponents this season with a 72-61 victory over Auburn on Sunday. Rod Hall tied a career high with 20 points. The Tigers will look to make it a perfect 4-0 against the SEC this Friday at South Carolina.

12. Boston College Eagles (6-3, 0-0)

Last week: Defeated Maine (85-74), Defeated Binghamton (63-49)
This week: USC (12/21)

Last week's ranking: 11t (down 1)

Boston College notched a pair of victories over marginal America East teams last week. It wasn't always pretty but wins are wins. The Eagles have now won four straight for the first time since March 2013 (didn't win four straight games all last season). On Sunday, the Eagles welcome the USC Trojans to Conte Forum for the back-end of a home-and-home.

13. Florida State Seminoles (4-5, 0-1)

Last week: Lost to Notre Dame (83-63)
This week: North Florida (12/17), @ USF (12/20)

Last week's ranking: 13 (--)

Florida State struggled without leading scorer Aaron Thomas, who was declared ineligible for the season on Friday, as the Seminoles dropped a 83-63 decision to Notre Dame in the ACC opener. FSU will look to climb back above .500 with a pair of non-conference games against fellow Sunshine State schools this week -- North Florida and South Florida.

14. Wake Forest Demon Deacons (5-5, 0-1)

Last week: Defeated Samford (86-68)
This week: @ Florida (12/20)

Last week's ranking: 14 (--)

The Deacons dispatched Samford, 86-68, on Sunday. Forward Devin Thomas scored 19 points to help Wake pull away in the second half. The Deacons next face the Florida Gators in something called the Metro PCS Orange Bowl Classic in Sunrise, Florida, on Saturday.

15. Virginia Tech Hokies (5-4, 0-0)

Last week: Defeated Alabama A&M (65-55)
This week: The Citadel (12/20)

Last week's ranking: 15 (--)

A 10-point victory over Alabama A&M (344th in kenpom's rankings) wasn't enough to lift the Hokies out of the ACC Men's Basketball Power Rankings basement this week. The Hokies will host The Citadel on Saturday inside Cassell Coliseum.
