I am seriously ready to hit one clear to the Death Star right now.

This is a great opportunity for the Eagles. Winning today assures them of a spot in the Regional Final, which means someone has to beat them in a doubleheader in order to force a game for Monday.

Let me explain further. If BC wins today, they'll play tomorrow evening against the winner of a game between Utah and the winner of Ole Miss/Tulane. That will be the second game that team will play since the game to determine who plays the winner's bracket champion is in the early afternoon.

That means a team has to go all out to win the first game, then hope to have enough left in the tank to take on a rested team with their standard roster available. If they can win, they still have to play a game on Monday. It's so incredibly hard to do; that's the #1, main reason why teams that lose the first game usually don't (and last year didn't at all) advance out of a regional.

So this is a golden opportunity for the Eagles. At the same time, I'm still thinking about what happened back in 2009. After the 25 inning game against Texas, BC had to come out and play Army. They had no chance at winning that game, and they lost because they had beyond nothing left in the tank. So there's always a chance, no matter how slim to none, that you over hit and blow up your home planet.
