Congratulations to the Boston College baseball team, a 7-4 winner over Connecticut on Tuesday afternoon in Storrs. The win snapped a 15 (!) game losing streak for Birdball. The baseball team hadn't won a game in exactly a month so of course they beat the 16-9 UConn Huskies at UConn. Troll on, Birdball. Troll on.
The hero of the game was freshman Chris Shaw. Shaw hit the game tying home run in the eighth and followed that up with a three-run bomb in the top of the ninth to plate the winning runs. Yahtzee!
Gorman tallied the win to improve to 2-3 on the year. He allowed four hits over 3.1 innings, allowing four hits and one walk while striking out three. Junior John Hennessy went 2-for-4 with two RBIs at the dish.
The Eagles will host Harvard in their home opener this afternoon at 3 p.m. at Eddie Pellagrini Diamond at Commander Shea Field.
