A wild week 13 of the college football season has completely turned the Heisman Trophy race on its head. One of the biggest beneficiaries of that chaos is Boston College senior running back Andre Williams, who now has 15-1 odds to win this year's Heisman Trophy.
Here are the latest odds courtesy of Bovada (second number is current line, first number is last week's line):
Player | Pos. | Team | Week 13 | Current |
---|---|---|---|---|
Jameis Winston | QB | Florida State | 4/11 | 1/2 |
A.J. McCarron | QB | Alabama | 13/2 | 2/1 |
Andre Williams | RB | Boston College | Off the Board | 15/1 |
Braxton Miller | QB | Ohio State | Off the Board | 15/1 |
Derek Carr | QB | Fresno State | Off the Board | 20/1 |
Johnny Manziel | QB | Texas A&M | 5/2 | 20/1 |
Jordan Lynch | QB | Northern Illinois | Off the Board | 28/1 |
Bryce Petty | QB | Baylor Bears | 10/1 | Off the Board |
Previous Heisman Trophy contenders Bryce Petty and Marcus Mariota are no longer being considered, replaced by four new candidates. In addition to Williams, Ohio State QB Braxton Miller (15-1), Fresno State QB Derek Carr (20-1) and NIU QB Jordan Lynch (28-1) are all on the board this week.
For those keeping track at home, that's the five quarterbacks leading undefeated teams, last year's Heisman Trophy winner and BC's Andre Williams. Pretty distinguished company.
