The Boston College women's basketball team ended a 5 game losing streak today, defeating Pitt by a score of 74-60.
The Eagles shot 52.6% from the floor in today's win, and were led by Ally VanTimmeren who had a standout game with 17 points. Andrea Daley also had a stellar game for BC, recording a double-double with 10 points and a team leading 12 rebounds.
The Eagles' struggles continued tonight, as they lost their 5th straight game tonight. BC fell to Miami by a score of 86-65, despite leading 41-37 at halftime.
The Eagles had a decent offensive game, including 7 baskets from behind the arc, but made an unacceptable 27 turnovers, leading to 24 Miami points. Without Dontavia Waggoner, BC also struggled on defense - Miami had 5 blocks to BC's 1 and 22 steals to BC's 4.
Freshman guard Donald Hand Jr. underwent successful surgery on Monday to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). He suffered the injury in the first half of BC's game vs. Detroit Mercy on Nov. 11. He will miss the remainder of the 2022-23 season.
