The Book 2023: Big 10 and Big 12 Preview

After reviewing the ACC, SEC and Independents yesterday, including predicting BC's 12th place finish in the ACC, with an expected record of 5.8 wins and 6.2 losses and a 55.55% chance to be bowl eligible, we take a look at the Big 10 and Big 12 today.

In our model, it's the Big 10 East and not the SEC West that has three of the top 7 teams in the nation, including our pick for #1, the Ohio State Buckeyes, to edge out #4 Michigan. OSU is also selected by ESPN FPI, so it is far from a reach selection.

#15 Wisconsin is the pick on the West side to meet the Bucks in the Big 10 title game.

In the Big 12, it's Texas who is a consensus pick to win the conference in their final go around before moving to the SEC in 2024. Neither Texas at #11 or second place Oklahoma at #13, appear to be a threat to get to the College Football Playoff. The Horns and Sooners both have the greatest chance to go 7-2 in league play, making them unlikely to get into the CFP.

Tomorrow, we take a look at the American Athletic Conference as well as the Pac 12 in their final year of existence, at least in the current format.
