The Columbus Dispatch has reported that Ohio State University AD Gene Smith will retire effective June 30, 2024. Two names that the paper listed, among a group of possible successors, are Martin Jarmond and Jocelyn Gates. We all know Jarmond, who came to BC from OSU. At BC Gates was the Senior Associate Athletics Director and Senior Woman Administrator. She left the Heights for a position as the Senior Associate Athletic Director at OSU, overseeing the football program. Her husband is Dennis Gates who, when he was the HC at Cleveland State, got considerable support on BCI to succeed Jim Christian. He is now the HC at Missouri.
