On Wednesday afternoon, North Carolina tight end Kamari Morales announced on social media that he intends to transfer to Boston College. Morales will be a sixth-year grad student in 2024 after a 5-year career at UNC.
Morales has had a lengthy college career already to this point, playing a significant role in the North Carolina passing attack in 2021, 2022, but less so in 2023. After being a top-5 passing target for the Tarheels for two years and earning 24+ receptions each season, Morales’s role was dialed back in 2023 as fellow tight end Bryson Nesbit took over more playing time at the position. Morales is very effective and efficient as a receiver, averaging 9+ yards per reception each of the last three years and bringing that number up to 14.4 this past season.
So with just one year of eligibility left, he’s elected to come to the Heights to replace the outgoing George Takacs. But he’ll have some competition with an experienced group of back-ups already on BC’s roster.
Welcome to the Heights, Kamari!
