Time to look at the baseball program

To our new AD, whoever (s)he may be: It's time to take a hard look at the baseball program. While we really aren't a fit in the ACC for baseball (the southern states have a big advantage in terms of winter/spring weather), we've been dreadful for Mike Gambino's tenure.

This year, the team is 19-29 overall and 5-21 in ACC play (and losing 8-0 to FSU today in the 6th inning as I write this). Gambino has coached the team since 2011. We're 254-341 overall (0.427 winning percentage) and 99-227 in conference play (0.304 winning percentage). We're not even remotely competitive. This year, we're dead last in the ACC in batting average (0.240) and in ERA (8.15).

At BC, we tend to give our coaches long leashes, which I think can be good. But Steve Addazio and Jim Christian (and Steve Donohue) clearly stayed too long. BC's best ACC record under Gambino has been 13-15 in 2016. It's probably time to move on. This has become an embarrassment.
