The AP and Coaches polls for Week 5 came out this morning, and Boston College remains on the outside looking in.
In the AP Poll, BC found itself in 29th place receiving 55 votes. ACC teams above them include NC State at 23, Wake Forest at 24, and Clemson at 25. In the Coaches Poll, BC is at 27th place receiving 91 votes. ACC teams above them in that poll include Clemson at 19 and Wake Forest at 25.
As one of the ACC’s only 2 undefeated teams, one may think that BC deserves a slot above Clemson or NC State, or at least in the conversation in the 20s along with Wake Forest, but it seems the voters did not agree. Clemson’s offense has looked extremely mediocre while BC has proved its offense can succeed even absent QB Phil Jurkovec. Nonetheless, Boston College will get an opportunity to prove their doubters wrong this week when they travel down to Clemson’s Death Valley Saturday night to face the vulnerable defending ACC champs.
