A defensive showcase

Yesterday, Boston College traveled to Philadelphia and defeated the Temple Owls on their home turf at Lincoln Financial Field by a score of 28-3. The Eagles offense wasn’t super impressive in this outing, but they got the job done. The Eagles defense on the other hand, played an unexpectedly great game and was much improved compared to their inconsistent game against UMass a week prior. The MVP of the defense yesterday was LB Isaiah Graham-Mobley, also known as IGM.

IGM made the most tackles on BC’s side of the ball (8) and was crucial in a 4th down stop early in the game that kept the Owls offense at bay and forced them to turn it over on downs for the first time in the game. IGM would continue to stretch the field and make plays all over the place in a performance that shone through much of the day’s other mediocrity. I wasn’t expecting to name a defensive player as BC’s player of the game very often this season, but IGM certainly earned it in Week 3 after this almost-shutout performance with the BC defense. Here’s to hoping he can do it again down the line and this defense overperforms expectations.
