The Red Bandana jerseys have been a now long-running tradition at Boston College to honor BC grad Welles Crowther, who is known for his heroics on September 11th, 2001 as The Man in the Red Bandana. You can watch the full documentary here.

Boston College will wear these during their annual 'Red Bandana' game which honors the memory of Welles Crowther, who lost his life on 9/11 while rescuing people stuck in the south tower of the World Trade Center.

Notable is the addition of the words “Boston College” across the front on the new unis instead of a stripe (I have to say I’m a fan of the old design), but otherwise they look pretty similar.
The Boston College football team will wear these new Red Bandana jerseys for September 11th’s game against UMass. They will also wear them against Virginia Tech on November 5th at Alumni Stadium for the annual Red Bandana game in primetime on a Friday night.
