Chibueze Onwuka is reportedly out for the season after suffering an injury during camp, per Pete Thamel.
Sources: BC defensive tackle Chibueze Onwuka will miss the season after suffering an injury during camp. The Buffalo transfer started five games for BC last year as a grad transfer and had 2.5 TFLs and 2 forced fumbles. A big loss for BC’s defense, which is thin at DT.— Pete Thamel (@PeteThamel) August 15, 2021
The 2020 transfer from Buffalo figured to be an anchor on the Eagles defense, after a solid first season with the team. BC was looking to drastically improve its defensive line play and it seemed as though things were trending in the right direction prior to the loss. The Maryland native is a graduate student who should be able to come back better next year if he so chooses.
As seen above, the tackle position is a little thinner. TJ Rayam returns with plenty of experience at the position, and Khris Banks enters as part of the Temple heist. Behind them are sophomores Izaiah Henderson and Cam Horsley, with Ryan Betro available as well. You could see freshman Owen Stoudmire from Ohio and DC’s Nigel Tate get into the mix as well.
Sending out our best for Chibueze.
