BC’s offense is primed for a big year

Boston College v Duke

Today the votes for the All-ACC Preseason Football Team were announced, along with the votes for ACC Preseason Player of the Year. WR Zay Flowers, OG Zion Johnson, and C Alec Lindstrom all received All-ACC Preseason honors. Both Zay Flowers and QB Phil Jurkovec also received votes for Preseason ACC Player of the Year. Boston College, previously a team that was expected to go under the radar this season, is actually receiving its full-on hype. It got its highest ranking in the ACC Preseason poll in years, their offensive players are getting lots of recognition, and many national college football analysts are talking about BC as their ACC dark horse this year.

It’s a lot of hype, so we’ll see if it’s deserved. Expectations should be dampened a little bit by the fact BC’s defense was very mediocre last year and is not expected to get much better. Sure, Jurk and Flowers and company may be lighting up the scoreboard this year, but it may not mean much if the other end of the ball is getting blown out too.

How do you think the Boston College offense pans out this year?
