Andre Gassau has joined his longtime teammate Aidan Hreschuk as a 2021 NHL draft pick! Gassau was chosen in the seventh round by the Boston Bruins at #213. He joins former BC captain Tommy Cross in the Bruins organization.

Like Hreschuk, Gassau spent his younger years playing for the Los Angeles Jr. Kings before joining the USNTDP. In between, Gassau also spent a season with Shattuck St. Mary’s. A 6’4 forward from Los Angeles, he is the son of former AHLer James Gasseau and the nephew of St. Cloud State alum and former WCHL player Sandy Gasseau.

Gassau has strong puck handling skills and is good at getting into position for one-timers. He wasn’t an offensive superstar for the USNTDP, but picked up a respectable 12 goals and 15 assists in 42 games for the U.S. National U18 Team last season. Gassau is the type of player who should be able to really mature as a player with the consistency of NCAA training.

We look forward to seeing him in Chestnut Hill next winter and hopefully in Boston for many years to come!
