Following their national championship game triumph over Syracuse on Sunday afternoon, the Boston College women’s lacrosse team returned to Chestnut Hill on Monday, and were given a champion’s welcome by members of the Boston College community after they got off the team bus in front of Alumni Stadium.

Among the luminaries there to greet Acacia Walker-Weinstein and the team was a man who knows a thing or two about bringing hardware back to the Heights - men’s hockey coach Jerry York, who greeted Coach Walker-Weinstein with a copy of Monday’s paper that prominently featured BC’s victory:

BC’s players and coaches also made the day of some young fans who came out to welcome them upon their return home:

Other members of the BC coaching family were also present to salute the lacrosse team, including women’s basketball coach Joanna Bernabei McNamee, who tweeted out that she was there early, well before the team bus arrived back home.
