This afternoon, Boston College confirmed 2 transfers that will be joining the men’s hockey team next season thanks to the NCAA’s COVID eligibility rule. Bowling Green forward Brandon Kruse and goalie Eric Dop will be joining the Eagles as grad transfers.

Kruse is a 5’9 forward who was drafted in the 5th round of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft by the Vegas Golden Knights. He was an alternate captain for the Falcons this season and led the team in points (34) and assists (23) as a senior. He also scored a career high 11 goals this season. Kruse totaled 142 career points at Bowling Green. With BC losing a huge chunk of their scoring, he should hopefully add some scoring capability and leadership to a young group of forwards.

Dop, Bowling Green’s starting goaltender, will likely split playing time with Henry Wilder as the Eagles try to replace Spencer Knight, an irreplaceable goalie. Over 4 seasons at Bowling Green, Dop averaged 2.1 goals against per game. As a senior, he had a .923 save percentage and a 13-8-1 record. Dop also recorded 8 shoutouts during his time with the Falcons.
