This morning, Boston College announced that Boston College women’s basketball coach Joanna Bernabei-McNamee has added Lindsay Wisdom-Hylton to her coaching staff. Wisdom-Hylton replaces Yolanda Griffith as an assistant coach for the team.

Lindsay Wisdom-Hylton is a former WNBA player who has worked as an assistant coach in the NCAA since her playing career ended.

Wisdom-Hylton played 4 years of college basketball at Purdue (she missed her senior season, but returned for a 5th season) before being drafted 13th overall in the 2009 WNBA Draft. She held the Purdue program record for career blocked shots and rebounds, until one of her own players (Ae’Rianna Harris) broke both.

Wisdom-Hylton played 4 years in the WNBA, including stints on the Los Angeles Sparks, Chicago Sky, and Washington Mystics. She also played for a number of international teams during this time.

She took a job as an assistant coach at Purdue from 2009-2010 while playing in the WNBA, and resumed that job in 2012 days after retiring from professional play. In 2019, she left Purdue to take the assistant coaching job at Wisconsin, where she stayed until taking the job at BC. Purdue made in to the NCAA Tournament 7 times during Wisdom-Hylton’s time as a coach there.

Wisdom-Hylton has worked primarily with post players in her previous coaching jobs, including standouts Ae’Rianna Harris, Imani Lewis, and Abby Laszewski.
