Boston College freshman defenseman Jack Agnew announced today on Twitter that he intends to transfer to RPI for his next season of NCAA hockey.
I’m very excited to announce that I will be joining @RPI_Hockey next season. I’d like to thank everyone at BC for the memories and friendships made this year. Looking forward to this great opportunity at RPI and I can’t wait to arrive on campus this fall! pic.twitter.com/WiqlUIEQu6

Agnew didn’t see a lot of playing time at BC this year, just appearing in 4 games and only recording 1 shot on goal. His sister, Lindsey Agnew, was a captain for the women’s team in 2019-20 and played 2 seasons with BC after transferring from Minnesota.
Jack is probably looking for more playing time and a chance to prove himself on the ice that he isn’t getting in Chestnut Hill. Rosters like RPI’s and others in the ECAC were decimated by transfers after they decided to forgo the entire 2020-21 season, so Agnew will slot in nicely for a squad desperate for talent.
We wish Jack all the best on his journey beyond BC!
