The Boston College women’s lacrosse team closed out the regular season today with a 16-7 loss to Syracuse, despite the fact that the Orange were missing their leading scorer. This was only BC’s second loss of the season (the first was to #1 UNC), and comes just 2 days after BC beat the Orange by a score of 14-13. BC will end the regular season with a 12-2 record.
The Eagles took the early 1-0 lead in this one off of a goal by Cara Urbank, but it was pretty much all Orange for the rest of the game. Syracuse followed up BC’s first goal with 8 unanswered goals, and the Eagles just weren’t able to overcome that deficit.
Syracuse led in all stats except for draw controls, which were dominated by Urbank. The Eagles didn’t have a single player record a hat trick today, which is always a surprise for this roster, and Charlotte North was held scoreless.
Next up for both teams is the ACC Tournament, which will begin on April 28.
